The Music Doesn’t Stop Just Because You Get Older

If you are middle-aged, have you ever thought you might be "too old" to attend concerts??

Well, I had a few years in there when I maybe didn't want to go to concerts because being in confined spaces with a ton of people and loud music sounded more like an anxiety attack than a good time.

As my daughter got older, she started showing a lot of interest in music. She was 10 when I took her to her first concert . . . Bridget Mendler at a local amusement park, then Demi Lovato, then Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, Shawn Mendes, and so on. For her 17th birthday, I surprised her with tickets to her then favorite band, The Neighbourhood. It was their last concert at the Hollywood Bowl is Los Angeles before they broke up for awhile. She was ecstatic, to say the least. We were 4th row, center stage! The concert-going continued for her during college with her friends, and to see many people or groups I, of course, had never heard of.

One day while she was home for winter break, we were in the car going to get our favorite Starbucks drink and Fire for You, by the Cannons, started playing. She freaked! "Mom! You like the Cannons?!?!?" As if she had forgotten that I love music, too. All kinds!!! She called me the following April (this year), to announce that the Cannons were going on tour and we HAD to get tickets.

Again, at one of our favorite music venues, the Hollywood Bowl, this summer we went to see the Cannons and Bob Moses. Bob who? we both had asked each other when buying the tickets, but we go for the music, the experience and the time together, so hey, something new, sounds fun.

OMG!!! What an amazing frickin show! The Cannons were awesome as I knew they would be - so worth it!! But, Bob Moses - u n b e l i e v a b l e!!! I can confidently say they are now one of my favorite bands - especially live! If you have never heard of either, check them out on my Pandora playlist (yes, Pandora - not Spotify). The Afterglow Tour 2026

We had such a great time!! Great music, super cool venue and the absolute best company to enjoy it with! So, NO, you are NEVER too old to attend a concert and create lasting memories!
